Furthermore it is important to legally change the status of your van to the status of campervan. I may depend on the country you are living in, but in the Netherlands the taxes are much lower for a camper than for a van. You have to make an appointment with one of the governmental services to examine and approve your car if it has no status or the status has to be changed. Check the rules and laws in your country regarding this.
